NEW VIDEODROME CINEMA – CINES TAMBERLICK
Screening: Original Version subtitled in Spanish.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” redefined the concept of cult film forever.
What began as a modest film adaptation of a 1973 stage musical became one of the most singular cinematic experiences in history. This masterpiece of camp and the musical-horror genre, directed by Jim Sharman and written by Richard O’Brien, revolutionized popular culture by creating a new way of watching cinema: active audience participation.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” became the most enduring participatory film phenomenon in history, with midnight screenings that continue today, 40 years after its premiere. The film is an unashamed celebration of sexuality, fluid gender identity and personal liberation, all wrapped in a tribute to B-movies of science fiction and horror from the 1930s to the 1960s.

Classifying this film as a cult work is almost an understatement. On one hand, director Jim Sharman gifts us in this film with one of the most subversive and memorable audiovisual experiences in cinema; and on the other, its protagonists, Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, created characters that transcended the screen to become timeless cultural icons.
In this 2025, when the film world continues to search for new ways to connect with audiences, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to celebrate a film that invented its own way of creating community. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is not just cinema, it’s ritual, it’s liberation, it’s celebration.
Prepare yourself for a unique cinematic experience, where the boundary between screen and audience disappears. Let Dr. Frank-N-Furter guide you through a night of sexual self-discovery and personal liberation. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this gem on the big screen, where its memorable songs and camp aesthetic come to life in a way that invites participation. Join us to celebrate forty years of a film that taught the world that cinema can be much more than entertainment: it can be transformation!
