The opening of the 9th edition of the festival will come loaded with experiments gone wrong for all those cinephiles and lovers of old cinema theaters. For this, we will carry out a double session of mad doctors cinema.

The double program, or double session, was a fairly common phenomenon in cinema theaters from decades ago, where two films were shown for the price of one. This form of exhibition, practically unused today, once filled the programming of theaters in the city of Vigo. We’re talking about theaters that have already disappeared like the Avenida cinemas, the Palermo cinema, the Niza, or the Minicine.

In this inaugural session we will screen two horror comedies to fill the theater with laughter and screams for more than three hours.

Both films are packed with top-quality special effects that have kept them fresh throughout these decades, and which our FX expert, Ricardo Spencer, will discuss in the post-screening Q&A with the audience, where we’ll get a deeper look into how they were made.

Get ready for an unforgettable night of classic cinema, syringes, and strong emotions. Don’t miss the opportunity to relive this experience on the big screen and with the rest of the GFFF family!
