This year we have the honor of having TOHorror Fantastic Film Fest (Italy) as our partner festival.

The TOHorror Fantastic Film Fest is one of Italy’s most important festivals dedicated to genre cinema. Born in 1999 with the blessing of an exceptional godfather, Dario Argento, it is based in the city of Turin, Italy. Proudly independent since its founding, it has been reinventing itself over the years, evolving from an event linked solely to Italian underground horror cinema to become an international heterogeneous festival that each year presents dozens of works from the most disparate corners of the globe, including both feature films and short films by both emerging and established filmmakers, dedicated to everything related to horror, science fiction, fantasy, thriller, dark comedy, grotesque, weird, surreal…

One of TOHorror’s objectives is to contribute to spreading new talented and independent voices in the genre cinema scene. Alongside films by established filmmakers, the festival program annually presents many works by debut directors or second-time filmmakers. In recent years they have had the honor and pleasure of presenting alternative gems and formidable debuts in Italy such as “Red Rooms” by Pascal Plante, “Saint Maud” by Rose Glass, “The Sadness” by Rob Jabbaz, “Skinamarink” by Kyle Edward Ball, “Eight Eyes” by Austin Jennings, “Abruptio” by Evan Marlowe, “Amulet” by Romola Garai, “One Cut of the Dead” by Shinichiro Ueda, “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair” by Jane Schoenbrun, “Voidcaller” by Nils Alatalo, “Mad Heidi” by Johannes Hartmann and Sandro Klopfstein and many others.
In addition to feature films, the Short Films and Animation Short Films sections are definitely one of the festival’s cornerstones: more than 50 shorts are selected each year, bringing to light some of the most promising emerging filmmakers in the contemporary fantastic and horror cinema landscape.
Being a transversal event, TOHorror starts with films and then explores all possible modern media, with the aim of analyzing current society through the distorting lens of fantastic culture.

Thus, through screenings, meetings with guests (in recent years: Robert Morgan, Dave McKean, Richard Stanley, Jean Rollin, Dario Argento, Ruggero Deodato, Hélène Cattet & Bruno Forzani, Miguel Angel Martin, Klaus Maeck, André Bonzel…), live music, art exhibitions, comic presentations, talks, roundtables and wild parties, we manage to experience reality through the most unbridled imagination.
The 24th edition of TOHorror was held in October 2024, presenting Italian premieres of such great films as “In A Violent Nature” by Chris Nash, “Oddity” by Damian McCarthy, “Sayara” by Can Evrenol, “Else” by Thibault Emin, “Animale” by Emma Benestan, “Steppenwolf” by Adilkhan Yerzhanov, “Krazy House” by Steffen Haars & Flip Van der Kuil, “Spermageddon” by Tommy Wirkola & Rasmus Sivertsen, “So Unreal” by Amanda Kramer and many, many others; as well as an extensive programming of incredible animation and live-action short films.
